BYE BYE, BARCLAYS

Posted on Updated on

The decline of services in rural areas in the face of competition from the online world continues with the announced closure the Barclays branch in Wooler. When this happens, in November, the community will have no banking facilities, except through the Post Office which will continue to take cash and cheque deposits for bank accounts.

Thankfully, the Wooler post office has a cashpoint which is open 24/7.

Mobile banking from Barclays will continue to be available of course, and the Berwick, Alnwick and Seahouses branches remain open.
