THE WAR MEMORIAL SEAT
The seat behind the village War Memorial fell apart shortly before Christmas, and had to be removed. Sadly much of the wood was rotten, and the seat could not be repaired.
The Parish Council would like to see a replacement for the seat – it’s a place of reflection, and a resting place for the weary pilgrim coming through the village!
We have the nameplate from the old seat – see the picture – and we would like to hear from anyone who is still connected with the names there, or remembers them.
From time to time we hear of families who would like to contribute a seat in the name of a departed loved one. If you know of anyone who would like this, please ask them to get in touch with us. We will replace the seat later in the year, and we are happy to add a loved one’s name for anyone who would like to share some of the cost with the Council.
We will be adding the old memorial plate to the seat as well.
