BRIDGE REPAIRS UNDERWAY
Following the controversial scheme to repair the bridge over the Low, the Council has recommenced work to repair the damage using the contraflow system preferred by residents.
The scheme was announced just over 2 weeks ago, following swift consultations locally which met with approval. The speed of the redesign and hurried consultation were necessitated by the period of the license obtained from the Environment Agency to carry out works on the river. There is also some concern about the condition of the bridge following years of erosion.
The traffic lights and equipment are now installed and operational. The period of the work is up to 12 weeks.
