IN FOND MEMORY…
The Northumberland Flag is at half mast in memory of Don Soutter, who passed away 2 nights ago.
Don and Margaret lived in the village for 20 years, and in that time both became good friends with so many of us. When we learned that Don had gone, we thought this was a fitting way to show our fondness for him, and our support for Margaret and Tom.
After an illness, the Soutters moved back to the Manchester area, where they had lived before, and where Margaret and Don knew they could find closer medical support. They were sad to leave us, as we were to see them go. It was a joyful occasion, last summer when they both returned for a visit.
