LET’S CELEBRATE THE PLATINUM JUBILEE IN 2022
The Queen’s determined endorsement of her Platinum Jubilee next year, coming just after Prince Phillip’s death, is a call to arms for all local communities to join in the celebrations of a truly memorable reign, a dedicated head of state, and a remarkable lady.
The Parish Council is seeking partners from across the community to plan and deliver a party to equal the fun and celebrations that were present for the Diamond Jubilee, 9 years ago.
Then, we had a jubilee queen, a street party in Cheviot View, and a fair on the Common. We have a very healthy oak tree, obtained from the Queen’s own garden – Windsor Great Park! There were games, stalls, a band, and other entertainments that we have not quite remembered yet!
We’re the same village, and we’ve got a year! By then, we are promised no restrictions – so is this the real opportunity to celebrate “coming out”?
