VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED!

Posted on Updated on

It is approaching that controversial day -All Hallows Eve – or Halloween – when children have a lot of fun scaring each other, and we celebrate those days when witches ruled the imagination of the faithful. All innocent fun, with the grim days of the past comfortably forgotten.

So this year’s Halloween Trail, organised by Karen and Richie in the Village Shop, is heading towards the witching hour, with some really ghoulish entries the length and breadth of the village. If you are viewing this, the gallery shows a good selection of the entries.

    Hi,
Anyone got any information on a lady named Jessie Trotter, who married Robert Moody (born in Lowick, 1823), apparently, she came from Scotland!
They went to live in the Liverpool area, and both died around 1900 and are buried in St. Michaels Church in Garston, a few miles south east of Liverpool.
