Visitors to the War Memorial will be greeted with the sight of damage to two of the posts by a large lorry or trailer taking the corner into Green Close.
This anonymous vehicle bent two of the steel posts and ripped one, and its substantial concrete base out of the ground.
We are contacting the County Council about this damage, to see how it may be repaired – it is unlikely to be covered by the Parish’s insurance.
Digging up and re-instating the posts could be expensive. Wouldn’t it be good if the culprit could come forward, and help to restore the fence to its former glory?
