WE’LL MEET AGAIN………..

Posted on Updated on

Following the death of Dame Vera Lynn on Thursday, the Parish Council decided that it would be appropriate to honour her life, and contribution to our country and its history, by flying the Union Flag at half mast.

Those who would like to add a tribute to Dame Vera, who was so recently remembered at the VE Day 75th Commemoration, are very welcome to add a comment below.

So once more the words of her most famous song:

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day

Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
‘Till the blue skies chase
Those dark clouds far away

And I will just say hello
To the folks that you know
Tell them you won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That, as I saw you go
You were singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day

And I will just say hello
To the folks that you know
Tell them you won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That, as I saw you go
You were singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again
Some sunny day.

It would have been far more appropriate if the Union Flag had been hoisted the right way up!
