SEW LONG, SEW GOOD
There’s really good news from our sewing team in Lowick Village Hall and Annie Robinson reports …
“We are just so proud of the team of 40 volunteers from Chirnside to Belford and everywhere in-between, including Lowick C19 Sewing group based at the village hall. Over 2300 items have been delivered in our local area including 257 gowns, 154 scrubs 1146 scrub and uniform wash bags, 279 face mask buddies as well as scrub hats, headbands and pairs of hearts.
The focus moved from doctors, nurses, paramedics and carers to dentists, opticians and schools. All our local requests are now complete and this week we have provided 70 gowns and 70 scrub bags to south Northumberland as part of the Northeast England Sewing for the Front Line, to the dentists as they gave all their PPE to the NHS.”
351 face coverings have now been delivered and some are available in the village shop and they are in significant demand. If you require significant numbers please let Annie know. A huge thank you to Honey and Vincent who painted delightful pebbles and left them to greet the sewers one morning at the village hall – pictured.
