Covid-19 latest

Northumberland Communities togetherNorthumberland County Council has launched it’s Communities Together hub to ensure those who are unable to leave their homes receive the support they need.

Teams have been working hard to compile food parcels to deliver to residents who are not able to rely on the help of friends, family or neighbours.

To volunteer to help as part of the hub, click HERE.

If you or someone you know needs assistance from the hub please email northumberlandcommunitiestogether@northumberland.gov.uk, or call 01670 620015 between 9am to 6pm, seven days a week.

Northumberland Business Hub

The Council’s Business Hub has also gone live – it has a wealth of information and advice for local companies and help from loans to grants. You can find it HERE.

Guidance on being outdoors
A number of people have asked questions about taking exercise and how to go about it safely. The guidance is clear – stay local, and stay 2 metres apart.  The Government has issued more detailed guidance HERE.

Support for the NHS
We have delivered millions more pieces of equipment to NHS staff, so that everyone who needs personal protective equipment can get it. We have established the national supply distribution response team, supported by the Armed Forces, to deliver equipment to people who need it the most.
We have delivered 170 million FFP3 masks, surgical masks and other PPE equipment:

•    23 million surgical face masks

•    42.8 million gloves

•    13.7 million aprons

•    182,000 gowns

•    Almost 10 million items of cleaning equipment

•    2.3 million pairs of eye protectors

Every single GP practice, dental practice, and community pharmacy has had a PPE delivery. All care homes, hospices, and home care providers have, or will shortly have, a delivery.
