Extended Hours for GP surgeries have been available in some GP practices in our area for some time now.
Well Close in Berwick, Belford, Glendale in Wooler and Alnwick Medical Group practices all offer GP appointments until 8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and on Saturday mornings from 8.00 a.m. until 12 noon.
Appointments should be made by telephoning the surgery during normal hours Mondays to Fridays. Outside these times, the NHS 111 service offers a reasonable substitute, even if it’s not quite Dr Finlay appearing at your doorstep.
Online Appointment bookings, Access to your Medical Records, and the ordering of Repeat Prescriptions is now available via your home PC or tablet. This excellent service requires careful setting up, but works anywhere, once you are registered. Get in touch with your surgery for details.
Finally, Flu Vaccinations are available in most GP surgeries from today, October 1st, and are free to all adults over 65, pregnant women, children aged 2 to 9 and any others with certain diseases or conditions. Contact your own GP surgery for advice and to make an appointment.
